Education

Educational History:

I graduated from Atlanta High School in 1986.

I graduated from college in 1990 from University of North Texas.

Degrees and Certifications:

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading.

 

Professional Development:

I am ESL certified.

Current Position:

I have taught at Atlanta Elementary for 15 years.

I have taught for Atlanta ISD for 21 years.

I am a fourth grade teacher. I teach Reading and English/Writing.

Previous Position:

I have taught for Atlanta ISD for 21 years and I have also taught in Ruston, LA for five years.

I have 27 years teaching experience in the public schools.

Family Information:

I am married to Johnny Cook. We have been married for twelve years.  I have two children.  My son, Hunter Fitts, is twenty – one  and is working as a welder.  My daughter, Hannah Fitts, is nineteen and is a freshman in college.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching during the school year, I am a swimming instructor in the summer.
